Hello and welcome! I wanted to give a short biography of my life so far and more importantly, the reason why I am writing this blog in the first place.
Firstly, I am a twenty-four year-old man with a strong connection to spirituality and nature, who has an immense passion for the written word. Writing is what gives me my life, it awakens my spirit. I feel it is what I am meant to do. It is my main passion.
A brief history of myself: I was born in a very small town in Newfoundland, Canada to a household with an older brother and sister being raised by a newly single mother. When I was five, my mom decided to move to Ottawa, Ontario, Canada because she was offered a better job. So, for the next sixteen years, I grew up in Ottawa, which is a big city compared to where I came from. Living in this city would serve to change the way I might’ve viewed the world if I had stayed in the small town I was born in.
During all this, my father was working as a pipe-fitter in Alberta, Canada. Working very long hours, very long shifts, but making good money. He would send child support twice a month, and visit us about twice a year. We longed for his visits. We couldn’t wait to see him and were overjoyed when he would surprise us with visits. He was good at that. Growing up with a father who wasn’t integrally in our lives was definitely hard, granted, we had it much better than a lot of other people did growing up, it was hard on us all the same. He wasn’t there for us when we needed him, he wasn’t around to see us grow and experience life, which I’m sure was difficult for him as well.
Despite how it may seem, I am incredibly grateful to have grown up under the circumstances which I did. I have an amazing mother who was there for us every step of the way, who gives fantastic advice, has an incredible sense of humor, and gives us more love than we could ever know what to do with. If it wasn’t for her, I don’t know where we would be. At the same time, though he wasn’t really there for us growing up, now that we are adults, our father has proved himself to be very caring, supportive, loving and understanding. I value his insight and wisdom in a way that I never thought I would. He has become an integral part of my life.
I am blessed to have parents like these. I know that not everybody has that luxury.
By the time I was twenty-one, I had realized with certainty that Ottawa was not the city I wanted to continue living in. So, I decided, literally overnight, to up and move to Victoria, BC. It was the best decision I’ve ever made. I experienced so many amazing things, lots of bad and lots of good, but all very rewarding. I underwent a powerful and sometimes painful spiritual transformation, ending up in a place from which I can help people.
Now that I’ve come this far, I want to serve the Universe. I believe I have insights and ideas that can help people to be the best version of themselves that they can be. This is the main purpose of this blog.
I want to remind people of the greatness within them. I want people who have forgotten their purpose to read my blog and remember it. I want to be a beacon of light amidst the darkness. I want people to feel like they can turn to my blog when they are feeling lost or unsure of themselves. I want to be one of the people who can reassure them of their unique gifts and encourage them to share them for the good of humanity.
We all a unique perspective on life, and so we all have something valuable to share. I think that this idea can easily be forgotten. I think people can quickly turn to believing that they are not unique or that they have nothing to give. They couldn’t be more wrong. They have a unique perspective on the ultimate truth. They have an intrinsic piece of the cosmic puzzle that nobody else has. Every single person has something valuable to give. If you didn’t, you wouldn’t be here because your perspective would not be needed. If you are here, your perspective is still needed.
That is the basic purpose of this blog. A reminder of your power. Reassurance that you have something essential to give and that you have the strength to give it. I won’t let you forget that because I know how important it is for individuals to rise up to their potential, for the good of humanity and our world as a whole.
Thank you for reading this blog, I hope it serves you well. Feel free to join me any time you feel lost or unsure. I am confident that I can get you back on the right track.
